Terms & Conditions

CANCELLATIONS – Unless 48 hours notice is given, lessons must be paid for.  If the student has been reliable and this is a rare occurrence, the driver could reduce this to 24 hours notice but at the instructor’s discretion.

RESPONSIBILITY – Driveaway School of Motoring cannot be held responsible for postponements of lessons due to illness, mechanical breakdown, weather conditions and for driving tests postponed by the Driving Standards Agency.  We cannot also be held responsible for loss or damage to any personal property brought to a driving lesson.

PAYMENTS – Driveaway School of Motoring Instructors are self-employed and the way the school is structured all agreements for the provision of driving tuition are strictly between the pupil and the instructor.  Driveaway School of Motoring as an entity cannot be held responsible.

Payments must be made in advance or at the beginning of each lesson by cash or bank transfer. Pre-paid lessons must be taken within 3 months.

THE DRIVING TEST – Students are responsible for booking their own driving test but before you book, check that your instructor is available. Driving test bookings always take priority over lessons; your lesson may be postponed to allow for another driving test to be conducted.

ROAD SAFETY – in the interest of public safety we reserve the right to withdraw our cars for test without notice should any pupil prove not to be up to test standard.

PUNCTUALITY - In their own interest learners are advised to be punctual for their lessons. Your instructor will normally wait a maximum of 15 minutes before the lesson is abandoned and the lesson fee forfeited or become due for payment. A reciprocal arrangement may be necessary if your instructor is delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. Any lesson time lost as a result of this would be made up by your instructor either at the end of the lesson or if possible at a future date.

COMFORT & SAFETY – In the interest of comfort and safety learners are advised to wear suitable footwear and clothing, which does not restrict movement. Learners must also not take medication that may affect their ability to drive safely. Please notify your instructor before taking any lessons booked.
